How Your State of Mind Affects You
“Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.” Here at 12five Capital, we love this quote from Henry Ford! We have always believed in the power of the mind, and how our state of mind affects us throughout the day.
Now we have proof that we were right! Our friends at the Harvard Business Review (HBR) published a great article, where the authors conducted a study on how our state of mind affects our performance at work. Click here to check out the article.
In the study, the authors found that higher states of mind (calm, happy, and energized) lead to higher levels of performance and effectiveness. In turn, lower states of mind (frustrated, anxious, tired, and stressed) can be “detrimental in the long term”.
So, if higher states of mind lead to better performance, how can we get to them or stay in one if we are already there? This HBR article gives us some ideas.
